HS2 Update: Notice of archaeological excavation works, Edgcote, mid February - August 2021

HS2 has recently completed an archaeological survey and trial trench evaluation work to identify possible areas of archaeological interest. They will now carry out further works where they have found areas of archaeological interest. This work involves topsoil excavation, mitigating and recording artefacts at Edgcote battlefield and Blackgrounds Farm.

Tent near the Burial Ground

HS2 - Trial trench work at Upper Boddington

The trial trenching will require the excavation of 125 trial trenches and will enable a greater understanding of archaeology in the area. Once the work is completed, the trenches will be backfilled.

The works are planned to start 4 January 2021and continue until April 2021.For more informaition please see the attached document.

Daffodil bulbs up for grabs
