The security fencing around the nest swing should be coming down on 21st January. By then the grass may have had a chance to become established somewhat.
The new surface under the swing will mean there is no need to add new safety bark every few years and the rubber 'grow-through' mesh will provide a surface which will not get worn and muddy.

Just in time for lockdown the new pedestrian crossing on Banbury Road is now up and working.
Located on Banbury Road opposite Judds Garage this now offers villagers an alternative to the single crossing on the High Street. The new crossing is also worth noting for local drivers who will need to get used to its location and be prepared to stop in a new place within the village!

There will be work starting today for a few days to replace the bark chippings with a safer turf surface (as there is under the zip slide and climbing frame). The plan is for workmen to be on site this morning to remove the current chippings, and again on Thursday to lay the turf. A reminder that all households can put their real Christmas tree out for collection on the first scheduled garden waste collection day after 10 January, whether you are subscribed to the garden waste collection service or not.

A number villagers have spoken to Parish Councillors about the young couple camping close to the burial ground. We have been aware of them since they arrived and have offered support, advice and assistance, they have also been helped by Byfield Good Neighbours and individuals.
