Planning decision upheld

The most recent planning appeal regarding the proposal to build 36 houses along Woodford Road has been turned down by the Planning Inspectorate.

In his conclusion the Planning Inspector wrote "The proposal would involve development in the open countryside which is unacceptable in principle. Furthermore, due to the location of the appeal site, its position in relation to the village and the form of the development proposed, the proposal would have an unacceptable effect on the character and appearance of the locality".

The full decision can be found here.

A similar appeal decision was reached last year on the previous appeal heard in January 2012.  The planned Judicial Review into the 2012 appeal was withdrawn by the applicant shortly before it was due to be heard at the High Court in October 2013.
